ROASTED TURKEY LEG WITH BACON ROLL

Roasted turkey leg with bacon roll, is one of the most popular dish of American cuisine. I made turkey legs instead  of whole turkey birds, because most of the people don’t want roast a whole bird.

In the world , A large amount of turkey meat is processed, it can be smoked or sliced. You can purchase as turkey, ham or turkey bacon , it is easily available in the market. One thing Turkey eggs are not commonly sold as a food due to the high demand for a whole turkey.

I made roasted turkey leg with bacon roll in the season of new years, so I want to share my recipe….

Ingredients

  • For marinating...
  • Extra virgin olive oil..........................3-4 tbsp
  • Turkey drumstick.................................2 no 280 gm
  • Unsalted butter...................................2 tbsp
  • Fresh thyme..........................................1 spring
  • Fresh rosemary..................................1 spring
  • HP sauce................................................1 tbsp
  • Crushed garlic......................................1 tbsp
  • Whole pepper......................................1/2 tbsp
  • Rough cut celery..................................30-40 gm
  • Salt............................................................1 tbsp
  • Orange juice..........................................4 tbsp
  • Lemon zest.............................................1/2 tbsp
  • Accompaniments.....
  • Chicken/Beef sausage..........................4 no
  • Bacon...........................................................4 slices
  • Baby potato.............................................100 gm
  • Asparagus..................................................30 gm
  • Carrot...........................................................30 gm
  • French beans..............................................30 gm
  • Cranberry sauce........................................1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Put a roasting tray with a roasting rack and spray the rack with olive oil.
  2. Marinate the turkey legs with all the ingredients as above and place mentioned  on the roasting rack. I recommend is overnight marinate turkey legs gives the best result.
  3. And roast for 20 minutes until the skin well browned and cover with silver foil , and keep continue roasting for again 20 minutes.
  4. Blanch the all vegetable and saute with butter garlic. Same time roasted the marinated baby potato and keep side it.
  5. Make cranberry sauce with adding of liquid and make preferable sauce for the turkey.
  6. Remove from oven and allow to rest , but don't open the foil for 10 minutes before serving.
  7. After this served with Roasted baby potato,butter garlic vegetable and cranberry sauce.
  8. Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig.
