The sauce is made from what is known as chestnut, which is a hardwood tree native to the region of North America.
The uses of chestnut sauce are pretty much limitless, and I’m certain you can come up with quite a few uses for this wonderful nutty-based sauce.
Chestnut trees grow all over the country and are often left unattended as they grow and mature.
As a result, the trees lose their leaves and the scent of the leaves drops along with it, making the scent of the whole chestnut tree somewhat musky and smoky.
A sweet nutty smell comes from the nuts from when the tree is young until the sap begins to flow.
When that happens, the nuts dry out and become what is known as chestnut vinegar.
This is then used as a food seasoning or as a wine ingredient.
