Crisp Belgian waffles are a traditional breakfast food recipe that is a delight to eat. They are made from sugar, butter, yeast eggs, milk and flour, just as banana pancake or simple Pancake.

If you want a crispy waffle, the first thing you need to do is to make sure that your waffle iron is properly heated.

Throw a few drops of water onto the surface and if it sizzles, then it will be ready for the batter.

Add eggs, flour, sugar, and baking powder into a bowl. Whisk them together until they are well mixed and add any other ingredients that you want to add to your waffles such as chocolate chips or blueberries.

Next, fill a cup with milk or water or a mixture of both and pour it into the bowl with the egg mixture using a measuring cup so that you get an even distribution. It’s best if you use milk because it gives an extra fluffiness to the waffles.

In Belgium, they prepared their waffles with a thin batter, larger squares, and deeper pockets than American waffles.

Belgian crispy waffles recipe was originally leavened with yeast, but baking powder is now often used. Toppings vary from whipped cream, fruits compote, spread chocolate sauce, honey, maple syrup, and a scoop of butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup All-purpose flour

  • 1 3/4 cup Full fat milk

  • 3 tbsp Unsalted butter

  • 1 no Large egg

  • 2 tbsp Sugar

  • 1 tbsp Maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp Honey

  • 2 no Fresh strawberry

Directions

  • In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and sugar.
  • Separate the egg yolk and egg white in two different bowls. Add milk and vanilla essence with egg yolk bowl and whiskey gentle.
  • Then add flour mixture to it and again mix well. Beat egg white in a bowl and gently fold in egg white to the batter and keep aside in a bowl.
  • Preheat the waffler and brush with the melted butter and pour waffle batter by a laddle over it and cook for 3-4 minutes, when it’s done remove from the waffler.
  • Serve hot with maple syrup, honey, and garnish with a mint sprig and fresh strawberries.
