Traditional Belgian crispy waffles recipe, made of egg, butter, sugar, refined flour and butter cooked in waffle maker until crispy, served with strawberry puree, blackberry puree, chocolate sauce, maple syrup, and a scoop of butter.
There are many variations based on the type of waffles and recipe used, Waffles are eaten throughout the world, particularly in Belgium, which has over a dozen regional varieties. Basically, the waffles are originated from French cuisine. But nowadays it is the most papular dished all over the world and the Belgian waffles have been famous for all the age of people, that varies from kids to old age people. They mostly like in their breakfast menu. Belgian crispy waffles from the city of Brussels of Belgium, its famous for their using the waffle iron for making the crispy waffles.
In Belgium, they used to waffles with a lighter batter, larger squares, and deeper pockets than American waffles. Belgian crispy waffles recipe were originally leavened with yeast, but baking powder is now often used. They are often eaten as a breakfast food; toppings vary from whipped cream, fruits compote, spread chocolate sauce, honey, maple syrup and a scoop of butter. They may also be served with vanilla ice cream and fresh fruit (such as strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries) as a dessert. More than 10 varieties of waffles, you can get from around the world.

These waffles vary from different cuisines, which it has belongs from which places. The ingredients of pancake recipe and Belgian waffles recipes are approximately same, not much different. Be sure when you are going to make waffles, the batter should be in room temperature.
BELGIAN CRISPY WAFFLES
Made with egg, butter, milk, sugar, and refined flour and cooked in a waffle maker.
- 1 1/2 cup All purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cup Milk
- 3 tbsp Melted butter
- 1 no egg yolk
- 2 tbsp Baking powder
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tbsp Vanilla extract
- 1 no egg white
- 2 no Fresh strawberries For garnish
- 2 sprig mint leaves For garnish
In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, and sugar. Separate the egg yolk and egg white in two different bowls. Add milk and vanilla essence with egg yolk bowl and whiskey gentle. Then add flour mixture in it and again mix well. Beat egg white in a bowl and gently fold in egg white to the batter and keep aside in a bowl.
Preheat the waffler and brush with the melted butter and pour batter mixture over it and cook for 3-4 minutes, when its done remove from the waffler.
Serve hot garnishing with a mint sprig and fresh strawberries.
- In Belgian waffles, instead of baking powder, you can use yeast, it’s authentic.
