Batter fried Fish and chips are very common and popular food of the world. Fish and chips can serve two ways one is Crumb fried and the other one is batter fried. The batter is made of flour, egg and seasoning. Nowadays the people are using tempura batter instead of flour, In tempura batter you don’t need to use egg, Simple adds water and tempura flour mix together as per company instruction, it will enhance crispiness of the dish.
The different kind of fish can use in this recipe, it may be Basa fish, humor fish……….Batter fried fish and chips is a hot dish of English origin consisting of fish and potato chips, it is a common take away food.
BATTER FRIED FISH AND CHIPS
Fried in tempura batter
- 1 pound Humour fish fillet (about 450 gm) divided in to 4 no
- 1 cup Tempura batter
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1 sprig Thyme
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- French fry for Side dish
- 1/2 cup green peas
- A sprig Mint leaves
- 1 tbsp Un salted butter
For batter, In a large mixing bowl take tempura batter, add water as per company instructed, mix together then add salt, lemon juice, pepper and chop parsley.
For Mushy peas, heat butter in a saucepan, add green peas and saute for a couple of minutes, add salt, pepper, lemon juice and mint chip. Keep aside.
Then fish, dip into the batter and allow any excess to drip off. Holding one end, gently lower the fish into the oil one by one, working carefully so you don't get splashed. Fry for couple of minutes.
Served with tartar sauce and mushy peas with accompaniment of french fry.
